In June, a large modified tapioca starch processing plant in Rayong, Thailand completed renovation of its wet refining line. Local tapioca raw ore is mixed with sediment and mechanical iron scraps, pushing the iron content of slurry up to 220ppm. Export orders to Europe and America were frequently rejected due to excessive metal impurities.

Iron removal was set in two processes. Detachable permanent drawer grate magnets were mounted on feeding pipelines to intercept coarse iron slag, allowing online pull-out cleaning without line shutdown. High-gradient slurry electromagnetic separators were equipped in the refining section to adsorb suspended micro weak magnetic iron oxide under strong magnetic field. The whole machine adopts 316 stainless steel to resist weak acid corrosion of starch slurry.

After transformation, the iron content of starch slurry fell below 20ppm and passed EU food contact material tests. Export orders increased by 38% month-on-month. The equipment adapts to tropical humid climate with an annual failure rate less than 1%.
